Founder and Design Director of Hubei Yandu Puyi Decoration Engineering Co., Ltd., Du Ran holds a degree in Environmental Art Design from Hubei Academy of Fine Arts. With 12 years of expertise spanning architectural firms (including Philip Hongkong Architects and Yitian Architects – Top 5 design firm in China) and independent practice, he champions a design philosophy of “Spatial Emotion Generator” – transforming cultural codes into contemporary spatial syntax through precision calibration of light rhythm, material poetics, and behavioral flow. Core Competencies • Academic Rigor:Systematic training in spatial proportion, color psychology, and tactile materiality; • Global-Local Nexus:Directed projects from 300㎡ restaurants to 30,000㎡ cultural complexes, demonstrating mastery in system thinking for large-scale public projects; • Typology Innovation:Seamlessly navigates commercial, educational, civic, and F&B spaces with human-centered scenography. Pioneering Projects 1. Shenzhen Super Wenheyou Complex (20,000㎡) → Conceptualized as “Vernacular Metaverse”,vertically stacked market stalls and dialect-neon signage reactivate collective memory, boosting footfall by 40% post-opening; 2. Qihu 360 Tianjin HQ & Longfor Group HQ (10,000㎡) → Pioneered “Modular Growth Units”:Detachable partitions + IoT lighting matrix enable agile workspace reconfiguration, reducing renovation waste by 30%; 3. Hongshan No.3 Primary School, Wuhan (30,000㎡) → Redefined corridors as “learning galleries” and stairwells as bouldering zones, transforming circulation spaces into pedagogical triggers; 4. Cultural Gastronomy Spaces Osolemio Italian Restaurant:Tuscan terracotta juxtaposed with Shanghai bluestone, deconstructed arches echoing Yangtze River contours; Sun&Gloria Restaurant:Laser-cut metal screens reinterpret Chu dynasty lacquer patterns, digitizing cultural heritage. Sustainability Manifesto Rejecting formalistic gestures, Du Ran advocates “Design as Social Proposition”: • Dolphin International Children’s House 2.0:Utilized recycled fishing-net composites for non-toxic play modules; • Zhuodaoquan Civic Hall:Citizen co-creation walls (modular magnetic boards) foster democratic participation. Du Ran will continue exploring the symbiosis of Eastern philosophy and parametric design, crafting spaces as mediums for human-nature-culture reconciliation.
